510 May 27, 2021. #1. I have an Acer Aspire 5738 that hangs while booting. The BIOS is Phoenix SecureCore (tm) NB V1.03. It finds the CPU, the system RAM passes and the system and video BIOS are shadowed. Then it hangs and will go no further. I can enter setup by hitting F2 if I'm quick. If I wait too long, once it hangs it won't enter setup. Ifdisk hasn't already been corrupted by the PartitionMgr, press and hold power button till laptop shuts off. Turn it back on and immediately tap the F2 key to enter the BIOS menu. Press F9 to set BIOS defaults. Make sure that UEFI mode is re-enabled in the BOOT tab. Then press F10 to save defaults settings and exit the BIOS menu.
