Ican attest to the reliability of Toyotas hybrid system. I own a 2010 Prius with over 147k miles and it runs like new. Toyota hybrids use the eCVT, a much more reliable CVT than others including Honda which use a flexible steel belt and pulley system that often fails. I'd go with the Corolla.
